APK
why not make an apk available download directly from the site, instead of having to go through Google play? and also, the app interface... i don't like it, a more user friendly interface would be nice, something like the official openvpn connect app. and an option to use openvpn 3 core! i got so many feature suggestions, like when i set global settings to certain settings it applies two every single profile i got imported into the app and i don't have to manually go through all the configs i got imported! and why don't you/yall add telemetry so you can fix issues with the app faster?!

Re: APK
Thank you for the suggestions.
For security reasons, it is better for the app to be distributed exclusively through Google Play.
Regarding the UI, unlike other apps, this one provides complete control over all VPN details. Consequently, the interface needs to display many more options. I always try to simplify its usage, but it is not simple.
I might also consider adding OpenVPN 3 core, but it is currently not a priority as I do not believe it offers anything extra compared to the full version.
Yes, some global options are designed to modify the default behavior of all VPN profiles. In most cases, this is useful, but I understand that in certain scenarios it can be annoying to have to modify individual VPN profiles to change a specific behavior. The issue is that finding a solution that works well for both cases is not straightforward.
For privacy and trust reasons, telemetry is not present and will never be added.

Re: APK
admin, fair enough on the telemetry, I'd much rather put up with a few bugs than have an app phoning home, especially a VPN one. I reckon the UI is a bit like the wiring on my old Defender, looks like a mess until you need to actually fix something and then you're glad it's all there... Cheers for explaining teh global settings thing too, its a proper pain but I can see why theres no easy answer.admin wrote:For privacy and trust reasons, telemetry is not present and will never be added.
